Recorded Live at the Shabul Jazz Club in Tel Aviv, Israel in 2009, we get a chance to hear Sasha Boyeson, only 19 at the time, perform her songs in full bloom. Brimming with insight and depth, her songs speak of the nitty gritty grime of Truth. Unabashedly unashamed, Sasha guides us into the world of downtown smoky gutter crooning jazz, and pulls it off better than a seasoned pro.

With only three songs on the record being covers, we can see Sasha is one of the best songs writers in history, unafraid to tell her story. Although she may have died before her time on April 1st 2012, we are so lucky to have a handful of recordings of our fiery red-headed senorita. This live performance reveals to us how incredibly talented she was, how strong willed she was (pulling together a band in every city she traveled to in her gypsy fashion), and how she sang with conviction and authenticity. Never faking a moment, we witness through these songs her sincerity and get glimpse of what could have been if Sasha was still with us today. But we also get a glimpse of what was and what will forever be, for Sasha lives on through her music and lives on inside those of us who love her and also perhaps those whom might fall in love with her after hearing her music for the first time.

This album has been released on Mardi Gras day, March Fourth 2014, Sasha's birthday. Happy Birthday Sasha. We love you!
